We didn’t just travel to Northern Norway. We chased a dream.
For a long time, the Arctic had been on our list — a place that felt almost unreal. Snow-covered peaks dropping straight into the ocean, tiny fishing villages, and skies dancing with the northern lights. But we didn’t want to experience it like ordinary tourists. We wanted freedom. We wanted adventure. We wanted to feel it.
That’s how we ended up with Arctic Vanlife.
From the very beginning, it felt different. This wasn’t just another rental company — it was personal. A family-run business where you’re not just another booking number. Espen made everything smooth, welcoming, and genuinely human. That matters more than you think when you’re heading into the Arctic in winter.

The Road Trip That Changed Everything
Our home on wheels was a Weinsberg X-Cursion — compact, comfortable, and perfectly built for winter conditions. It gave us the confidence to go wherever we wanted, whenever we wanted.
And that’s exactly what we did.
We drove through Lofoten with no strict plan. We stopped when something caught our eye. We stayed longer when a place felt right. That’s the magic of vanlife — the journey becomes yours.
Then one night, it happened.
The sky exploded into green.
Seeing the northern lights for the first time is impossible to describe. It’s not just something you see — it’s something you feel. Silence, awe, and a strange sense that you’re witnessing something ancient and powerful.

The Coldest, Warmest Moment
But nothing — and we mean nothing — prepared us for this:
A hot sauna.Freezing ocean. And the decision to jump.
At first, it sounds crazy. Completely insane.
But here’s the truth:
You’re not crazy if you ice bathe. You’re insane if you don’t.
That shock of cold, the rush of adrenaline, the laughter that comes right after — it’s addictive. It wakes you up in a way nothing else does. For a moment, you feel more alive than ever.
Why This Trip Was Different
It wasn’t just about the places we visited. It was about how we experienced them.
The van gave us flexibility. Comfort. Freedom. It turned a trip into a story — one we’ll never forget.
From chasing the northern lights to waking up surrounded by Arctic landscapes, every moment felt real and unfiltered.
